Olivia Dean Makes History During Six-Night Residency at London’s The O2

Olivia Dean has made history at London’s The O2, becoming the first female artist to sell out a six-night residency during her debut headline engagement at the arena.

Dean’s “The Art of Loving Live” tour stopped at the AEG-owned and operated venue for performances on April 29 and 30, May 1 and 2, and June 11 and 12. Each date drew a capacity crowd, with approximately 20,000 fans attending every show, marking a major milestone for the artist’s first headline appearances at the venue.

Reflecting on the achievement, Dean said the experience exceeded anything she had imagined.

“Selling out six nights at The O2 was a dream come true! I’m so grateful for everyone who came down to the shows, that was an experience I’ll remember for the rest of my life,” she said.

To commemorate the record-setting run, The O2 made a charitable contribution to The BRIT School, the performing arts institution selected by Dean. The school is known for helping nurture emerging creative talent and has produced a number of successful musicians and performers.

Christian D’Acuna, vice president of programming at The O2, praised the singer’s residency and the atmosphere inside the arena throughout the engagement.

“It’s been such a pleasure welcoming Olivia to The O2. Her performances were so full of joy, and the atmosphere inside the arena was incredible night after night,” D’Acuna said.

“For Olivia to sell out a six-night residency on her first headline run at The O2 is a phenomenal achievement. Thank you to CAA and Communion One for bringing these shows to the venue.”

“The Art of Loving Live” tour launched in Glasgow in April and has since visited cities throughout Europe, including Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Milan and Paris. Dean’s European schedule continues this weekend with two performances in Dublin on June 20 and 21.

Additional international dates are planned later in the year, with her North American leg slated to begin with back-to-back nights in San Francisco on July 10 and 11 at Chase Center. From there, Dean is scheduled to make stops in cities such as Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago, Toronto, Boston and New York before wrapping up the North American run on August 29 in Austin at Moody Center.

Following her North American dates, the singer will then head to Australia and New Zealand where she will give her final performance on October 17 in Auckland at Spark Arena.

Notably, the singer recently drew attention to the issue of ticket resale after fans discovered listings for U.S. dates being offered at prices more than 14 times above face value. Dean publicly criticized the inflated costs, prompting Ticketmaster to introduce limits on future resale prices for her shows.
